The people have a right to an opposing view, they just don't have the right to be your intimate friend.

I, for one, wouldn't want to be friends with Dick Cheney. Does that mean that I'm denying his right to have an opposing view?

Until I start waving guns at people I disagree with, I'm not sure I can accurately be stripped of my label as libertarian.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9877021.post-1164061316446373882006-11-20T17:21:00.000-05:002006-11-20T17:21:00.000-05:00Gee, Aaron, you have an active imagination. I did...Gee, Aaron, you have an active imagination. I did not put words into Mr. Molyneux's mouth, I made an editorial comment, my opinion, on the content of his article. I accused him of nothing but deciding to disassociate himself with others of differing opinions. Which, by the way, was EXACTLY what he said he did. If you do not like my opinion, or the manner in which I worded it, you are as free to dispute it as I am to give it.

Where exactly is the slander, Aaron?hooliganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15864121994100825077noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9877021.post-1164057991343988112006-11-20T16:26:00.000-05:002006-11-20T16:26:00.000-05:00Useless Eaters,For starters, you can look in Luke ...Useless Eaters,

For starters, you can look in Luke 19:22-27 to see where Jesus Christ himself says to bring those who would not have him rule over them, and slay them before his feet.

Also, Jesus does say (in the NT of course) that every jot and tittle; every law in the old testament is to still be obeyed. This obviously includes the OT commands to kill unbelievers and blasphemers, etc...

There are numerous other portions of the NT that prescribe death for unbelievers and heretics, but these two alone, from Jesus Christ's mouth, I believe are more than sufficient to satisfy your request. :)

Hooloigan,

You said:

You decided to play God and refashion your universe, ridding it of those who disagree with you.

What Stephan did was excercise his self-determination and choose to have relationships with those who shared his values. He certainly didnt force others to agree with him, or forbid others from expressing their views that were incompatible with his.

If libertarianism is the pursuit of personal freedom without denying that freedom to others, you are no libertarian, for you do not consent to their right to have an opposing view.

First of all, your complaint is analogous to the racist who complains that equal rights for blacks is discrimination against his was of Aryan life... hardly a legitimate complaint.

But more importantly, you are blatantly putting words in Stephans mouth. He never said any such thing. Stephan never said that he is acting - or would act - as thought police, preventing statists and taxation supporters from believing and expressing the ideas that they hold. Stephans choice to only associate with those who share the same values as he is fully consistent with libertarianism, market anarchy, and the concept of mutual consent.

You seem to not quite grasp what the concept of self-determination entails. Maybe you should go read some materials and educate yourself before you slander Stephan (and embarrass yourself) again.Aaron Kinneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12059982934663353474noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9877021.post-1163818812693993912006-11-17T22:00:00.000-05:002006-11-17T22:00:00.000-05:00You decided to play God and refashion your univers...You decided to play God and refashion your universe, ridding it of those who disagree with you.
